Blurring the line between art and technology, Arca trained an algorithm with 31 images of her mixed media paintings, allowing these material real-world artworks to transcend the physical realm to debut her emergence as a visual artist on the global stage. 

 “I hope you are compelled by these interpolated paintings of mine to take a moment and let the visual ASMR produce pleasure, allow for a moment of respite and solace, the experience of warped beauty.”
The ground-breaking experimental artist, Arca invites audiences to enter into a sci-fi playground for Untitled, CIRCA’s new commission which premiered on Piccadilly Lights in London and on a global network of screens in Los Angeles, Milan, Melbourne, New York, Seoul and Tokyo on New Year’s Day and throughout January 2022 daily at 20:22.
A 10 minute special of the film was broadcasted on Blue Monday, also known as the most depressing day of the year, as a meditation remedy to fight off the blues.

As a person who creates and enacts their identity through human interactions, I explored how this blend of influences can be translated through the feedback loops of a machine. Our bodies have become digital carriers of relations, feelings and memories, but how is essence transmitted through an interactive screen?This piece poses and answers this question by transcending the constraints of reality and humanity, unveiling a layer of the ghost in the machine and giving it the freedom to imagine and create by its own laws.︎︎︎Watch the film

In December 2020 I was part of the Freedom of Space residency with Lila Boutari at the Lalaounis Jewellery Museum in Athens. It hosts several jewellery pieces from the antiquity as well as the emblematic collections of Ilias Lalaounis.
For the mural made in collaboration with Lila, the idea was to explore the relationship between Aphrodite and her husband Hephaestus. Hephaestus was the god of smithery and the museum is located on the hill of Hephaestus so decided to use colours like dark browns, reds, oranges and gold to represent him. Aphrodite being the goddess of beauty urged us to use more pastel and light colours, with lighter and more translucent shapes.

	Blurring the line between art and technology, Arca trained an algorithm with 31 images of her mixed media paintings, allowing these material real-world artworks to transcend the physical realm to debut her emergence as a visual artist on the global stage.

As a person who creates and enacts their identity through human interactions, I explored how this blend of influences can be translated through the feedback loops of a machine. Our bodies have become digital carriers of relations, feelings and memories, but how is essence transmitted through an interactive screen?

This project poses and answers this question by transcending the constraints of reality and humanity, unveiling a layer of the ghost in the machine and giving it the freedom to imagine and create by its own laws.

	In December 2020 I got the chance to do a short residency with a fellow student of WCA, Lila Boutari Lalaouni at the Lalaounis Jewellery Museum in Athens. It hosts several jewellery pieces from the antiquity as well as the emblematic collections of Ilias Lalaounis. Part of the residency programme was to produce a mural in the backyard of the museum and a short interview about the project.

The main idea was to explore the relationship between Aphrodite and her husband Hephaestus. Hephaestus was the god of smithery and the museum is located on the hill of Hephaestus so decided to use colours like dark browns, reds, oranges and gold to represent him. Aphrodite being the goddess of beauty urged us to use more pastel and light colours, with lighter and more translucent shapes. We added her statue torso because we were asked to include at least one figurative element.

︎ Christina Anagnostou is a multi-media artist based in London. Born (1999) and raised in Athens, Greece the artist has had training in academic painting and is a graduate fine art student in Print &#38;amp; Time-Based Media at Wimbledon College of Arts and a finalist in the CIRCA x Dazed Class of 2021.Growing up in the internet age, the artist empties her mind on the table and lets the audience piece it back together. The use of rich visuals and oversaturated colours are fundamental to the aesthetic of the work, applied on sets, characters, costumes and creative direction. Her art practice revolves around the playfulness of online/offline identity, 

 in particular in how digital media, online politics and visual culture shape aesthetics and the image of the self. These are translated through surrealism and post humanism, collaging different elements to portray the ever-evolving and fragmented self.

Stretching from painting to moving image and 3D animation (video, installation), the intention behind each artwork is to construct/ build an immersive experience and they have been reviewed as humourous/satirical&#38;nbsp; but also sometimes contemplative. &#38;nbsp;Digested popular culture has been a prominent source of inspiration, from memes to pop culture icons and cult classic films, the artist pastiches them all in one form. ︎
